International Association of Surgeons International College of Surgeons (ICS). Recently the organization has given committee to Bangladesh. The eminent neurosurgeon and former vice-chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Kanak Kanti Barua, has been elected as the president of Bangladesh and Soumitra Sarkar, the head of the neurosurgery department of Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College, has been elected as the general secretary.
Recently these two doctors were officially selected in a five star hotel in Dhaka. Max Downham, CEO of the International College of Surgeons, came from Chicago in the United States for this event. He approved the Bangladesh Committee to speed up the activities of the Bangladesh Section of the International College of Surgeons. Apart from hundreds of doctors from all over the country, former health minister and MP Afam Ruhul Haque, director general of health department ABM Khurshid Alam and professor Md. Sanawar Hossain.
